| In 1956 as they had done
in prior years, General Motors used what was termed a GM Motorama to showcase the new car
models along with experimental cars. |

One of these experimental cars shown at this
year's show was the Chevrolet "Biscayne". The body was made of fibreglass. The
car was powered by a high compression V8 sporting 215hp. The engine was backed by a
powerglide automatic transmission. This car stood only 52 1/2 " tall and was 10
inches shorter than the 1955 Chevrolet. |
